A Nashville Greenhouse Wedding | Lindsey + Dune

Lindsey and Dune share a moment on the dance floor, puppets in hand.

A custom velvet suit, a dog named Milhouse, a whole crew of incredible kids, and a talent show starring puppet versions of the entire family.

Yes, puppets. And yes, it gets better.

Lindsey and Dune threw tradition out the window and built a wedding that was entirely their own. Set among the gardens and greenhouses of Long Hollow Gardens in Gallatin, Tennessee, just outside Nashville, their day was full of personal details, intentional moments, and a whole lot of personality.

There was laughter, happy tears, and a few moments that absolutely wrecked us. In the best possible way.

THE QUICK TAKE: This Nashville greenhouse wedding combined a sunset ceremony, a jewel-toned celebration, and some delightfully unconventional entertainment. From including their kids and dog in the ceremony to honoring family through meaningful keepsakes, Lindsey and Dune made every part of the experience personal.

A Family-Focused Wedding That Broke All the Traditional Rules

The morning began with Lindsey surrounded by her favorite people, including their amazing crew of kids.

While getting ready, she took time to give each of them individual gifts, each representing a special memory or experience they'd shared together. It was such a beautiful way to celebrate these relationships before the wedding even began. And honestly, those quiet moments are some of the ones I love photographing most.

Meanwhile, Dune was having a considerably more relaxed morning. He spent time hanging out with Milhouse, their dog, watching vendors put the final touches on the celebration, and getting ready in his custom velvet suit.

Which, for the record, I will always recommend. More velvet suits, please.

A Sunset Ceremony at Long Hollow Gardens

As the sun began to set over Long Hollow Gardens, the ceremony began. And this is where Lindsey and Dune really made things their own.

Instead of being escorted down the aisle by one person, Lindsey walked alongside their entire crew of kids. Dune made his entrance with Milhouse.

The whole family had a place in this moment, including the four-legged child. I can't imagine it happening any other way.

Music drifted through the air, the gardens were glowing in the evening light, and their favorite people gathered to watch them exchange vows.

There was nothing about this ceremony that needed to follow an established script. It was their family, celebrating exactly where they were in life, together.

And damn, was it beautiful.

Custom Cakes, Greenhouse Celebrations, and One Very Special Guitar

After the ceremony, everyone made their way toward the greenhouse, where the celebration was already getting started.

The kids were absolutely captivated by the balloon artist, the photo booth was in full swing, and the greenhouse itself was a whole experience. Beautiful greenery, rich colors, and an atmosphere that felt every bit as personal as the ceremony.

There were multiple cakes, too. Because when you're celebrating a family full of super cool kids, one cake simply isn't going to cut it.

Each had its own custom design, and I genuinely love that they made room for something as fun and individual as this.

But one of the most meaningful moments of the evening came during the toasts.

Lindsey's late father was honored with a special tribute, his guitar sitting center stage. A beautiful reminder that the people we love can still have a place in our celebrations, even when they can't physically be there.

There were tears. Plenty of them.

And then, as the evening continued, those tears gave way to laughter, and the party really got going.

They Had a Full-Blown Talent Show.

Now, I've seen some incredible wedding entertainment over the years, but Lindsey and Dune's reception was in a league of its own.

Who needs a DJ or a live band when your friends are this talented?

Instead of the usual wedding entertainment, their people took the stage for a talent show. There was music, plenty of champagne, and the kind of laughter that leaves your face hurting.

And just when you thought the evening couldn't get any better, the final performance began.

I KNOW.

The kids were completely captivated, and seeing the whole family react to something created especially for them was incredible. It was funny, heartfelt, delightfully weird, and one of the most memorable wedding performances I've witnessed.

More of this, please. More people letting their personalities take over the celebration. More kids being included in the meaningful stuff. More talented friends getting their moment on stage.

And yes, more puppets.

What Lindsey + Dune Got So Right About Their Intimate Wedding

The thing I love most about this wedding isn't any single detail.

It's how every part of the day felt connected to the people who were actually there.

Their kids weren't simply attending the wedding. They were part of the ceremony, the gifts, the cakes, and the entertainment. Lindsey's father was honored in a way that felt personal and genuine. Their friends became the evening's performers. Even Milhouse had an important job.

And that's what happens when you build your wedding around real relationships instead of a list of traditions you're expected to follow.

You don't have to abandon every tradition to create a meaningful wedding. Keep the ones you love. Change the ones that don't fit. Invent something entirely new if you feel like it.

The best moments usually come from the things that could only happen at your wedding.
